Description / Concept
A human body made up of overlays of paint, ink, stitching, road maps and medical imagery cut into an anatomical mix of organs, blood and nervous networks.
The front side represents life, with bright colors, a play of opacity and transparency, on a background of road networks where threads of blood circulate.
On the back one , drips of ink, a deliberately duller tone, where transparent, sclerotic, extinct, dying or already dead ramifications only let appear the ghostly image of the life that goes away.
This man is standing, facing three squares, evoking these road signs or traffic lights, which, when observed, save lives.
These are interpreted, in the form of car, bicycle and pedestrian reflective logos, also on backgrounds of brains in cut-out X Rays applied to road maps.
This work is dedicated to our died loved Jean Claude.
Material and technique: Painting, laser cutting, sewing and collage on X Rays, old road maps and reflective materials.
