Loi Phan Switzerland Painting

I work with the fusion of transparency and light to expand and deepen the view of the observer. As in life, everything is constantly evolving with time. Light evolves too. Painting using my technique calls for reassessing one's own prejudices. A lighted path feels safer and a poorly lit one more perilous.

A painting process that allows nature to interact with life, merging together, like flowing water amid the energy source of life. As in life, everything is interconnected, harmony and conflict. Therefore not just with the colours, forms and finished surfaces are designed and intended as one. No perfection is possible.

My artworks is mostly painted in ink on multiple layers of paper for colour clarity under light, some with mixed media to give my painting a three dimensional form. Paper glue is used not just as a bonding agent but improving paper translucency, giving additional special effects and artwork protection. The paper used is not solely functioning as a background support for the artwork but it is integrated with mixed media in my artwork, creating drawing lines and 3D effects.

My artwork is free from the idea of 'just hang against a wall' but it can be displayed in many different ways, permitting change of colour and images corresponding to the surrounding light conditions.

The Spirit painting was executed early March, the beginning time of the Covid 19 virus that has schock the world. It depicted the human fearless spirit in the fight against the virus despite personal safety, risk and sacrify.
