Raymond Carver's story, "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" was published with major edits and rewrites made by his editor Gordon Lish. Carver opposed the changes so much that he tried to stop publication. But the story was published with them anyway. Here, both visions of the story are presented simultaneously, two competing versions in a single work.
