Contemplation

‘Cathedra’ by Barnett Newman is the painting that impressed me the most of all paintings I’ve ever seen. I never forget the experience of seeing this painting in the Stedelijk museum of Amsterdam for the first time. It was a direct smash into my face and lost myself into the canvas. Also Mark Rothko and JW Turner (his suns) are my great hero’s. Walking down a street I decided to quit thinking and just pushed the camera button when I saw a colour that hit me. The place of each colour is well positioned to create a maximum of harmony.
